From the moment our guests walk through the door, we want them to feel at home. Read what our past guests have said about us.
“MCLH has gone “above and beyond” in order to help provide a stable and constant home environment for the Gallegos family during the remodeling of their home.I cannot say enough about the actions, care, concern and kindness she, the directors and the staff have shown. MCLH is a wonderful organization, which includes a 24 hour staff, that relies on donations to assist/serve families during crisis. This is and absolutely remarkable facility and Amarillo is blessed that so many people donated their time, energy and money for years in order to make this vision a reality.“
“We have had to travel to Amarillo several times since Thanksgiving due to the ailing health of parents. We’ve stayed in area motels but expenses are climbing with all the trips. This is a wonderful place to relax, sleep and get back over to the hospital close by. Thank you so much for providing a home away from home at a very reasonable rate.“
“My step dad went in for a supposedly simple procedure and went downhill, this was a place for my mom to stay when he was in ICU. He was in the hospital for almost a month before he passed. Thank you for what this place is! What a blessing. I don’t know what my mom would have done without it!“
“We live in Stratford, TX which is 90 miles north of Amarillo & takes about 1 ½ hours to make the trip. Mr. Donelson suggested the League House, we are grateful for such a nice place to stay – everything was very clean, beds were wonderful, staff extremely pleasant & friendly. Thank you for a wonderful nights rest before my cataract surgery. “
“My husband has had a kidney transplant. The anti-rejection drugs greatly suppress his immune system so he is prone to pneumonia and other infections which require hospitalization. In the past, from lack of funds, I have often just stayed in his room. Medical Center League House is affordable, conveniently situated and very lovely. Thank you!”
“My daughter was in a wreck in the middle of the night. We drove about 8 hours after being up all night (2 ½ hours sleep) from a small town in Kansas to a strange big city. We had no idea where to find lodging. We also were finding it hard to manage traffic and the lady at the hospital sent us here. Everyone has been so nice and helpful. The accommodations are wonderful. It did make things much less stressful and we thank you.”
“My son and daughter-in-law are having their baby 2 months early. There are problems with the pregnancy. My granddaughter will weigh about 3 ½ lbs. Her name is Chansie Jae Shoulders. This house has been so great to me. I am thankful for all of you. God Bless ya’ll & thank you.”
“My husband and I were enroute from our winter home in Mesa, AZ to our summer home at Detroit Lakes, MN when my husband experienced an acute pancreatic attack. We will be eternally grateful to the medical staff at BSA and for the MCLH and its caring staff. Thank you!”
“Our brother-in-law was air lifted to Amarillo from Guymon and the League House was a real blessing as it is so convenient to the hospital.”
“I came here to Amarillo from Guymon, OK to see 3 doctors and have a medical test. My day was very long. The League House provided a safe, quiet refuge in my time of need. Thank you very much.”
Dear Friends at the League House,
“We would like to give this $500.00 donation in honor of the staff for all of the wonderful care, blessings and prayers you have shown us, making us feel at home and part of the family. Please use this donation for any project you would like.
We are so appreciative of everything you have done for us and will keep you in our prayers.
God bless you with love.”
“Staying at the League House has been a God send for our family. We had a brother (& father) in I.C.U. at the VA hospital for a week and we simply could not have stayed this long in a hotel due to the expense that would have incurred. Our brother (Robert) is now in VA Hospice and he has said many times that he is so blessed to have all of us here as 2 of us are from California, 1 from New Mexico and 2 from Dallas.”
“We flew in from CA after receiving a call that our father was involved in a serious accident with a C2 neck injury, broken ribs and leg. Praise God he is doing well and will make a very good recovery with only limited mobility to his right arm. Quite a different outcome than when the 1st call came in. The power of prayer, God’s mercy & grace and a very caring hospital staff.”
“Thank you for being here and yes you made this difficult time less stressful. Very caring, warm & inviting.
Continued Blessing to all.”
“My husband has COPD & he got to coughing and could not get his breath. They moved him from the 8th floor to CC4. It is so nice to have such a wonderful place to stay & be close to the hospital. I love the room & everyone is so nice. Amarillo has needed this. God bless you.”
